No Helmet, no ride.
A valid CSA license is required for participants in the 25/45km
events. The onus is on the cyclist to ensure that he/she is in possession
of the relevant license. Please note licenses are on sale on the online entry system at R 35per rider
Riders must complete the entire course under their own power, and
it is the responsibility of the rider to follow the official route
No rider may take a short cut
Technical assistance is only permitted from another rider in the
same distance. Outside assistance is not permitted.
Riders may not pollute the route/area with any object, including
tubes, water bottles, sachets etc.
No glass containers/bottles are permitted on the route
Riders should behave in a sporting manner, not use offensive or
abusive language, and should adhere to the race regulations.
Race numbers are supplied by the organisers and are to be attached
with cable ties to the handle bars of the bike the entrant will be
12 yrs & under, and then Open
13 yrs + [equivalent to the std “Sub Juniors” who are 13 – 14 yrs]
15 yrs + [equivalent to the std “:Youth” at 15 – 16 yrs]
will include bright yellow boards with black arrows, and shall be depicted by the following:
i. Arrows – route to follow:
a) Split boards to demarcate the different routes
c) Potentially dangerous situations
ii. ‘x’ might be used to depict the wrong direction
iii. Potentially dangerous situations: 1 or more arrows to
be placed upside down at the obstacle (2/3 arrows are a more dangerous
- Yellow boards with black arrows will mark all routes on the course.Some permanent boards and some temporary.
- Routes, tree stumps, protruding rocks etc will be sprayed in
fluorescent colour paint.
- Bunting tape will further demarcate the route.
- Orange fluorescent stickers will mark the route at regular
intervals.The course markings shall be on the left hand side of the course.
MEDICALSUPPORT: full medical support will
be available on route, as well as at the start/finish area. The
emergency number for the event is Richard on 083 600 1289
TIMING: the timing is done via your number board
LEAD BIKES: there will be motor bikes leading the 45/25/10km events.
Times: There will be a cut-off time (to be advised) at the
splitpoint of the 25/45km event and at the 2nd/3rd waterpoint. At this point,
any cyclist who has been cut off is to follow the 25km route back to the venue.
Access to the finish will be closed at 12h00.
SWEEP VEHICLES: sweep vehicles will
complete all routes to ensure that all cyclists have returned safely to
the venue. If you have a problem, please make your way to the nearest
water point for assistance.
